$148 Billion of Tesla Shares Traded in One Day as Stonk Hits All-Time High

Ahead of Tesla’s inclusion in the S&P 500 on Monday, Tesla broke a few more records. Before today, the all-time volume record for equity was $118 billion of $SPY traded in March of 2020. Today, $148 billion worth of Tesla shares were traded.

Tesla’s inclusion in the S&P 500 on Monday will be the single biggest inclusion event in the history of the index.

Some asking what's past high water mark for a single stock. Not 100% sure but looking at Apple and Amazon, their all time highest volume days are a mere $43b and $31b respectively. This is why I put $SPY in the chart for context, it's King of Volume Jungle.
